RELATIONSHIP: She Is Not Flirting With You

Hey ladies! Permit me to talk to the guys today. Some of them are getting it twisted. They need to know the truth.

The Acts of Flirting

Hey brother, how are you doing? See, let me be frank with you. When a sister likes you, you'll know. And when she likes you some other way, you'll also know.

You can tell when a lady is flirting with you or just being friendly, right? No? You should find out.

But first, lemme tell you something about Christian ladies who are as free and crazy as I am.

If we are very comfortable in your company and can hold a very long creative conversation with you, you will become our padi automatically. (padi is a Yoruba slang which means bestie)

Having you as our besties means we are free to be everything we want to be when you are there. We don't have to always be on high-heels, braided hair or expensive clothes each time we want to see you. We laugh and share jokes.

We enjoy talking with you so much that we can say "I missed you. How have you been?" the next time we see you.

Then you will start thinking we are flirting with you. Please, we are not. We are only being real, nice and friendly. It's a harmless gesture.

WE ARE NOT SEDUCING YOU.

Don't think too much about it. Don't take us too seriously.

We are very playful. We are naturally attractive (because the Spirit in us makes us beautiful to behold) and will always grab your attention. We are quite interesting. So you might need to "guard your heart diligently". Don't give your heart away. In other words, don't fall in lust love!

Now, let's talk a little about flirting.

Flirting

Flirting is "sexual". It is seductive.

Flirting may be socially acceptable, but it is certainly not found in the description of a woman of godly character - it is just the opposite! What comes to mind when we think of a flirtatious woman? It would most possibly align more with the character of the most popular adulterous woman . . . Jezebel.

No. No. We, Christian ladies don't even go that far. The other ladies do it, we don't.

Flirting most certainly does not lead us toward godliness. The outcome of flirting is not greater purity, greater honour of our spouse (current or future), or greater love for the Lord.

Brother, please I beg you, don't get it twisted. Just like you, we are also capable of being sweet and friendly and outgoing with everyone because it is the nice thing to do, without wanting to communicate sexual desire.

Just like you holding the door for us does not communicate a desire for sex, so do we smile and say a warm “thank you”, "I missed you" or say "I like your shirt" without having sex in mind . . . or any bad intention whatsoever.

Stop thinking bad-bad things.

WE ARE NOT GIVING YOU THE GREEN LIGHT.

We are only being the crazy and cool sisters that we are. We dress well. We speak well. We pout a lot too! When we look at you with the glows in our eyes. See Jesus only. (Lol).

So brother, now that I've told you this, you will not hold it against us. Abi?

Final word from the Bible:

"To preserve you from the evil woman, from the smooth tongue of the adulteress. Do not desire her beauty in your heart, and do not let her capture you with her eyelashes;"
Proverbs 6:24-25 (ESV)

"My son, keep my words and treasure up my commandments with you; keep my commandments and live; keep my teaching as the apple of your eye; bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart. Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,” and call insight your intimate friend, to keep you from the forbidden woman, from the adulteress with her smooth words."
~ Proverbs 7:1-27 (ESV)

Love to all the good guys I know.
Muwah!
Be wise.

P.S I honestly dunno why I wrote this. *covers face* Do you know?
