21 Days of Praise: Day 8 - Standing on His Promises

Welcome to Day 8 of our #21DaysofPraise series! Today, we focus on the incredible promises of God. His promises are sure and steadfast, providing us with hope and assurance in every situation.

Praise for God's Promises

Standing on Gods promises
This picture right here is a symbol of me standing on God’s promises.

Verse of the Day: 2 Corinthians 1:20
“For no matter how many promises God has made, they are ‘Yes’ in Christ. And so through him the ‘Amen’ is spoken by us to the glory of God.” — (NIV)

“For all of God’s promises find their ‘yes’ of fulfillment in him. And as his ‘yes’ and our ‘amen’ ascend to God, we bring him glory!” — (TPT)
When I am feeling distant from Jesus, wondering if He truly cares, if He notices my dilemmas, the antidote is not sheer willful determination to have more faith. This only leads me to despairing guilt.

Instead, I turn to the truth of God’s promises. I fill my mind with the truth of all He’s promised me, and soon, that truth begins to create feelings of love, joy and hope in my heart.

As we meditate on God’s promises today, let’s be encouraged by the truth that His Word never fails. His promises are our anchor in the storms of life, and they provide us with hope, strength, and direction.

One particular promise that has always held me up is found in Jeremiah 29:11: “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”

Celebrating My Journey To Motherhood

My draft disappeared shortly before this post and now, I am not in a calm state of mind to write anything “inspirational”. Yeah. This is because I am too joyful to write.

Happy Birthday To Me

If you’ve been a follower of my writings, then you’ll know I draw from my feelings. My emotions. My heart. However, right now I want to be out FEELING MY FEELINGS.

It’s not so easy to write when I’m happy. Neither because I have less feelings or feelings about those feelings, nor because my happy feelings are any less worthy of being written about than my heartbreaking feelings, but simply because being happy makes me want to go out and scream than sit down to reflect.

I don’t want to talk; I want to do. I don’t want to reflect; I want to be. So it’s harder, much harder, to write today.

A Totally Different June (Or Journey?) In My Life

It's been a minute since I last blogged in real time. I took an intentional break in updating my public diary because I was concerting a lot of spiritual and physical energy in other areas of my life. A lot has happened in the past few months, scratch that, in the past one year, I mean, was it not like yesterday when I celebrated my 30th Birthday?

Happy June

I am a proud June baby. And I glow differently in June. Those born in June or have loved ones born in June can testify to this glow. Cheers to all the June babies out there! We are the coolest ones. The way they say C-o-o-l is the same way we say J-u-n-e. Yeah, we are cool like that.

This is an official welcome to the second half of the year! Let’s just say we spent the first half of the year sowing to reap a bountiful harvest into the second half of the year. Wait! What am I even saying? Lol. Amaka! June is the 6th month of the year!

Taking A Break From Taking A Break

Hi sweetheart. Welcome to a brand new week. Hope you are doing great!

Until His Kingdom Come

Taking a break

Aside from the very first two weeks after my Wedding Day, these past two weeks have been the most exciting, refreshing and eventful one. I literally was locked up at home with my husband for the entire period. And trust me, I enjoyed every minute of it!

It’s surprising how loud silence can be. Especially when you’re not used to it. This has been my experience each day, sitting there in the arms of the one I love. Alone. It was beautifully silent — but for the oscillating sound of our neighbour's generator set — and my soul decompressed from weeks on end in the rush to achieve my goals. My body and soul has found fresh air there that was hard to come by before the lockdown. I am grateful.

I want you to join me. Not in my husband's arms (that is never going to happen) but in some silent, occasional solitude of your own. You need a break from the chaos, from the noise and the crowds, more than you may think at first. You need the spiritual disciplines of silence and solitude.

What Comes First — Peace Or Happiness?

I'm in a happy place now. I'm thinking, can you be at peace if you're not happy? The answer probably depends on our perspective of both experiences. . . on whether we get them from external factors or from within.

Peace And Happiness

I hardly see myself praying for happiness. But I have always seen myself praying for peace.

Happiness is something that I think everyone can easily find. You can find it when you buy new clothes. Get a better job. Money. Laughter. Regardless of what it takes to make you laugh so hard that your stomach hurts, you can achieve staying happy every day. Little things can make you happy, but it takes quite an effort for you be at peace.

How To Wear Your Scarf As A Jacket (In 5 Easy Steps)

Happy Sunday sweets! How was church today? It's the first Sunday in the month. Be grateful for where you are already in order to get to where you want to be.

Thought to show you what I wore to church today. 🙂

First of all, you need a long rectangular scarf. Check your wardrobe and look for the longest scarves. Then pick one.

The pretty leopard print scarf I’m using here is about 70″ long x 26″ wide. The longer the scarf, the larger the arm openings will be. The width of your scarf determines how long it will be on your body, aka where it will hit: waist, hips, thighs, etc. Mine is 26″ wide and therefore, a fairly long jacket. The fringe on the ends of your scarf creates a fun detail on the front of your jacket.

Now the steps . . .

Redefine The Way You View Stress At Your Workplace

Hello sweethearts of my blogosphere! How are you doing? I know I've not been regular here as much, please bear with me. There is a lot going on. And work? It has been stretching me.

It's 8:00PM. I thought I could let this day pass because I am VERY tired but thankfully, I found my fingers hitting the keypad. It's Career-Wednesday!

Redefine Stress At Work

Rick Warren says in his book, The Purpose Driven Life; “Work becomes worship when you dedicate it to God and perform it with an awareness of his presence.” I concur!

Sometimes it takes only the presence of the Holy Spirit to keep you sane when the happenings at work try to drive you crazy.

Phew.

STYLE: Bring More Happiness With Your Skirts

Happy Style–Sunday! I'm always up for enjoying new and creative ways of dressing up . . . by experimenting with the clothes in my wardrobe.

Still having fun with wild layering techniques.

Layering Skirt On Skirt

Expressing yourself and having fun through clothes is what I’m all about – but the most important part of everything is letting your personality shine through. You bring your taste, interests, desires, inspirations, aspirations and history – bundle a couple (or all) of them together – and let it shine in the way you dress.

Dear Diary, Here's What I Am Feeling Like

My birthday is in 20 days. I’ve learned that it takes a great deal of courage to lay down everything you know and everything you feel.

Mixed Feelings

June usually come with excitement. But for the past three years, the excitement wraps itself up with anxiety.

Today Is Much More Important

Hi. Hi. How are you doing? It's Monday! PYH Series gets me excited on Mondays.

This is 3rd chapter (Joshua 3) on the PYH Series. It is a reminder that the past cannot hinder the future.

Prepare For Today

Key Verse:

"And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves: for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you."

The best security for the future - success, answered prayers, open doors, breakthroughs etc is today's sanctifying.

Today prepares you for the future.

70+ Reasons Behind My Smile

Someone said to me; "Amaka, I love your smiles". I had to process that statement for a while because my teeth are not-so-white. What exactly is about my smile? Lol. In as much as I'm unsure if that should be taken as a compliment, I'd like to simply take it as one. I've got a beautiful smile. :)

70+ Reasons Behind My Smile

I believe the simple act of smiling does far more than making you look friendly and approachable. It can change your life and the lives of those around you. It is a positivity booster.

DIARY: A Trip Down Memory Lane To Badagry

This is an exciting entry. Grab a bag of popcorn and a bottle of your favourite drink already. :)

Trip To Badagry

I’ve always loved going to places that give me an opportunity to see and discover exciting things. Visiting Badagry was an amazing experience for me; I learnt the town’s most beautiful culture and heritage.

DIARY: 4 Things I'm Loving Lately

I can't believe I'd never done a What-I'm-Loving post. And I've been calling myself a lifestyle blogger. Lol.

4 Things I'm Loving Lately

If you are on a journey to self-discovery, to fulfilling your dreams or to becoming a better YOU, it is very important to keep track of what you are spending most of your time and money on. You know time is life, right?

Having said that, these are the things that have been taking a big chunk of my time and money lately.
