Highlights of 'I Met Jerry' - Chapter 1 to 10

Some sweethearts find it hard to believe that this is a true story (and not fiction). I have lived and loved in all these chapters. Jerry does not only exist in my imagination, he also lives in the real world. Get over it jhorr. Lol.

Highlights of 'I Met Jerry'

The highlight of a story is the most important, interesting or enjoyable part of it. Now let's talk about what makes a relationship look like Magic and Wonder.

STORY: I Met Jerry (10)

When a man loves a woman, he tells her. When a woman loves a man, she tells the world. I had just added another personal love quote to my diary. I smiled.

Small Shakara

It dawned on me. Love is a beautiful thing but it can also be painful. You have to fight to keep it. You have to nurture it to grow. And you have to get angry to appreciate it. Yeah, I think so.

I was angry.

STORY: I Met Jerry (9)

It's 8:45 PM. I still couldn't get through to Jerry. This might probably be the first day he's never called since the day we met. But I hope not.

Event Wear

I had completed all the items I had on my to-do list. It wasn't a very bad day. But Jerry could have made it much better if he had called. He didn't. Perhaps not yet.

As I lay on the bed alone with my pillows, I thought about Jerry. I thought about the happy moments we shared. I thought about the way he makes me blush. I thought about the day we. . .

Jerry's line has been off all morning. I was worried-sick. "what is happening??"

Another Her

Each time my phone rang, I had just one person on my mind. Just one.

I had received quite a number of calls that morning. But none of them was Jerry's.  I was disappointed when each voice I heard was not his.

Now we chat on social media because the phone calls aren't just enough. I really do enjoy the dynamics of social media and the power of emoticons.

Chats of Solomon

If Jerry and I were in a competition of "who is more romantic?" It would be a tie. We are too romantic at almost the same level. Being romantic is saying or doing things that show that you love someone. And Jerry and I express our feelings without any doubt or shame. We do not care who texted first, or replied last.

We can't help to say, "I love you."

STORY: I Met Jerry (6)

"I love you my baby boo. . ." ". . . Don't call me that. . ." "Ahan, so what should I now call you?" "Whatever you like but not that name used in all those worldly relationships. . ."

Goodbye Jerreasonable

It would make more sense if Jerry and I was taking a walk on the beach right now. I thought to myself.

We took a walk down the street. And I do not exactly enjoy walking with Jerry on a busy road. The noise on the streets which included cars hooting, people shouting and all that, distracts me from savouring the moment.

"Are you never going to kiss me again?" I asked Jerry. We've already had two different dates after our first kiss. And still, he wouldn't kiss me. Why?

Focus

We had a dinner date. A date we had both looked forward to. The last time I'd seen him was about 24 hours ago but it'd felt like 24 years. How I missed my Magic! 

I was in a long flowery dress and he was smartly dressed in jeans. We talked, laughed and enjoyed some silence. Being with Jerry is like breathing - he gives me life.

STORY: I Met Jerry (4)

I still haven't gotten over our first kiss. The memory is still fresh. It must be a magic kissing spell or something, because it's never left my mind ever since. The butterflies are already building a mansion in my stomach. Will they ever leave?

Jerry Knows Somehow

I could imagine God laughing at me that morning as I prayed about my feelings. Anyone who heard me praying might have had a laugh attack. It was so funny that I find it funny too.

"Did anybody call you?" Bro. Ignatius asked me. "Somebody like who?" "One man came here on Tuesday to collect your number. I think he needs you to create a jingle for him because he mentioned it. So I gave it to him."

Magic and Wonder

Bro. Ignatius attended Bible study that week but I didn't. So it was during Sunday service that he told me about some man who came looking for me and asking for my number.

Who could it be? I had no idea who he might be.

12 missed calls. . .and Jerry is still calling. I had refused to pick up his calls because I think I might fall in love with him. I have a high tendency of falling in love easily as well as falling out of love quickly. No, I'm not a love junkie. No.

Phone Calls

These are days when you can reach your loved ones via social media platforms such as BBM, Facebook, Twitter, Whatsap and the likes. These platforms make communication easier, faster and cheaper. Unfortunately, Jerry only has my phone number. So he depended solely on phone calls.

It was a Sunday. I had just had the most amazing evening house fellowship ever. And I was smiling my way back home as I hummed a song, Imeela. . .Imeela. . .okaka. . .onye kere uwa. . .imeela. . .imeela. . .Eze'm oo. . .

I Met Jerry

I was such in a good mood. Perhaps in high spirits. I didn't realize I had a smile on my face until he smiled back at me. Huh? I waved, and kept on walking.

He ran after me.
