2017 So Far . . .

I’ve been thinking of the best way to sum up 2017 so far because I’m optimistic that we still have some days ahead of us, and as we know, "a day is like a thousand years with God." If you follow me on any of the social media sites you probably have an idea of my current mood: JOY. God has been so good!

Boxing Day 2017

When a week, or a month, or a year is over, do you ever wonder, "Wow, what did I achieve?" "Where did time go?" Been there. Done that.

Why Do You Study The Bible? And Must You?

I'm in that season where God questions my motives and intentions. It's not a very interesting one. I feel every form of art I hold dear is gradually slipping away from me. The "why" questions are breaking me.

Why Study The Bible

When I was studying the book of Joshua, I had no intention to share it with anyone. I innocently wanted to personally understand the concept of discovering the promised land, entering into the promised land, and taking over the promised land.

As I began the study, I was totally dazed at the things I was blessed enough to understand. I was thrilled by the new insight. I became excited and thought I couldn't keep them to myself.

Don't Forget The Word After A Successful Outcome

The end of a thing is more important than the beginning. Joshua 8 ended beautifully and inspiringly. Still on the PYH Series . . .

Remember The Word Even After Success

Joshua (in chapter 1) had been commanded from the start to meditate on God's word. In Joshua 8, his army had defeated the city of Ai, just as God had predicted. Then came the decision point. Would Joshua celebrate this victory or give glory to God? Here's what we are told,

Afterward, Joshua read all the words of the law-the blessings and the curses--just as it is written in the Book of the Law. There was not a word of all that Moses had commanded that Joshua did not read to the whole assembly of Israel, including the women and children, and the aliens who lived among them. - Joshua 8:34-35

You Are More Powerful When You Are Pure

We are still on the PYH Series . . . Joshua 8.

After the sin of Achan was eradicated in Joshua Chapter 7, the Israelites could now take over the land of Ai without a struggle. Aww . . .

Be Obedient

As soon as Archan was stone to death (his sin completely eradicated). The Lord now said to Joshua in the very first verse of Chapter 8:

"Fear not, neither be dismayed: take all the people of war with you, arise, go up to Ai: see, I have given into thy hand the king of AI, and his people and his city, and his land:"

Leaders Are Mostly Morning People

Hiya! Praise the Lord! We've already covered 7 chapters out of the 24 chapters in the book of Joshua. Glory! May each Word that we have received bear much more fruits in our hearts in Jesus name. Amen.

You know that moment when you want to turn over to the next page and your eyes catch a word that makes you stop to think? Yes, that was what happened when I was about to turn over to chapter 8.

You Cannot Afford To Be Distracted

In Chapter 7 of the book of Joshua, because of the sin of one Israelite, Israel could no longer stand before their enemies. They grew so weak. Choi. 

Stay Focused

Sin is so underrated. If only we knew how much time, power and focus we lose each time we go against God's word.

Honestly, I Have Been Too Busy For God

Let's not forget that our goal in the PYH series is not merely to increase our knowledge; but to change our lives. One focal point of the Book of Joshua is about winning the battle to inherit the Promised Land.

Submit To God . . . Everything Is A Threat

Two nights before I decided to put this post together, I had a dream. All I can remember about the dream was what a young man said to me after picking me up from . . . I can't remember. I don't know where.

He said, 'Everything is a threat!"

The major take for me in Joshua chapter 4 is that God wants us, His people to ALWAYS remember what He has done.

Today Is Much More Important

Hi. Hi. How are you doing? It's Monday! PYH Series gets me excited on Mondays.

This is 3rd chapter (Joshua 3) on the PYH Series. It is a reminder that the past cannot hinder the future.

Prepare For Today

Key Verse:

"And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves: for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you."

The best security for the future - success, answered prayers, open doors, breakthroughs etc is today's sanctifying.

Today prepares you for the future.

If You Are Not A Rara, Then Who Is Your Rara?

Haha . . . The title of today's post came up with a reggae tune in my head. How are you? It's a happy Monday! I choose to be happy. You can too!

OK. We are still on The Prepare Your Heart Series 2017. The first thing we shared on the series is God called Joshua and gave him a charge (read here). The second thing is Joshua received courage and got set to work (read here). The third thing is the preparation of food for the journey ahead (read here).

Let's throw some light on the fourth thing today!

Rahab's Faith

The fourth thing to observe in the book of Joshua is in chapter 2.

" And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, "Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went, and came into an harlot’s house, named Rahab, and lodged there."

 (Joshua 2:1)

Erm, this study might be rough and almost without a focus at the beginning. But I believe as we dive deeper into the chapters of the book, everything will start to make sense. Because if you ask me right now, I don't even know where this is leading us.

Be Strong And Courageous

Looking through my notes, I discovered that a blog post might not be enough to share a whole chapter. So, we may have to break certain chapters into section (a), (b), (c), etc. God help us oh. Amen.
