Why Settle for Ordinary When You Can Be Extraordinary with Maya?

I have always known my natural hair to be a female but today, she reveals a new layer. I am thrilled to introduce Maya to you. :)

Introducing Maya

Maya_ hair into dreadlocks

I had posted a picture on my WhatsApp status with the caption: “introducing: Maya” when it hit me that this is no ordinary thing. It is EXTRA!

In a world where hair is more than just a style but a statement, I’m thrilled to introduce Maya, the revolutionary hair that embody boldness, confidence, and an unapologetically fearless spirit. Whether it’s about stepping into a boardroom or dancing the night away, Maya ensures you stand out and own your presence.

My hair has been through so many phases and back. Some rough and some quite interesting. The last phase was a roller coaster; I mean the post-partum hair breakage phase. It seemed as though it would never, ever bounce back.
Natural hair struggles
My hair had been in a very vulnerable state for a very long time. After almost a year of battling with breakouts, I FINALLY decided to lock her up. I must say, she’s starting to thrive. Hallelujah!

New Hair, New Me

Welcome to a brand new blog post written by a blogger wearing a brand new hair in a brand new Year! Yipeee!

Happy New Hair

New hair, new me

Riding through the waves of last year was as one would say. . .very chaotic but I made it through the storm. I welcomed a lot of big changes and one of them was to birth another human being and I am super grateful that I did! Glory to God!

It was 4 weeks following the birth of my daughter. I brushed my hair and was quite shocked to see a large amount of hair attached to the bristles of my brush.

I had been forewarned about it, but this was worse than I imagined. By ‘it’, I mean postpartum hair loss.

Dear Diary, My Hairstylist Should Be Arrested For This

It's not fun to sit in a chair for hours while a virtual stranger does some things in your face and you leave looking ugly. :(

Issues With Hairdressers

I generally have trust issues with hairstylists, so I am very particular about who I allow to touch my hair.

What's Next

Hi. Hi. Long time, no blog. How is everyone doing? I hope you are enjoying the holiday.

What's Next

I'd like to rock my natural African kinky comb-breaking hair for Christmas. I gave it a good treat today! But I'm scared at how it is turning out. It seems my hair does not want me to shine this season.

Dear Diary, There Is More To Life Than Natural Hair

I decided to do something about my hair. So I went to a salon.

My Natural Hair Journey

I have so many things to say about my natural hair journey. There have been moments of joy and moments of pain. There have been moments of frustration and moments of inspiration. There have been moments of "I love being natural" and moments of "I dunno what to do!"

Relaxed Hair Vs Natural Hair; Who Am I?

No. I've not come to start an argument on this controversial topic about which is better (relaxed or natural?). We're all human, we have different tastes and different personalities. I am here for something much better . . . to help you find "you".

Journey of Self-Discovery

Lemme start by saying that I love relaxed and natural hair. I think all hair is beautiful. I think there is no such thing as good hair or bad hair because everybody is unique and everybody has got a personal style.

Yeah, I have worn both shoes. I have lived both worlds. I have discovered what it feels to have one and not have the other. Through it all, I am not my hair. I am me!

Now the question is, Who am I?

WIW: Green Jacket

Hi! What did you wear to church today? Share with us. Give us some tips from your style. On Sundays, it's about WIW! (Some people will be thinking I'm carnal now. Lol. Woreva!

Green Jacket

I am not sure whether I was wearing a blazer or a shirt. Lol. To be on a safe side, I have decided to call it a jacket. At least, that's the general description for any garment that has a front opening, collar, lapels, sleeves, and pockets.  :)

So yeah, I wore a green jacket over a black dress. I'm still into green like crazy. See pictures below . . .

STYLE: When My Natural Hair Smiles . . .

Happy Sunday, sweeties! All of a sudden, it's the last Sunday in September. Where is the year running to, biko? Hmmm . . . lemme also 'run' to finish this WIW post before I miss House Fellowship.

My Natural Hair At Nelly's wedding

Permit me, I like to address my natural hair as "she" sometimes. You know why? My natural hair has her own special wardrobe and makeup kit. She is a lady in my world like that o.

Hair Number 2015, 1097, 339 and 21 Falls Out

Hello sweethearts of my blogosphere! How are you all doing? I've kind of missed you all (especially my fellow bloggers). I'm currently working on a project that consumes more time than I had planned. That explains my latest sneaking in and out. This might probably be the shortest Monday Inspirational article on here . . .

God Numbered Your Hair

So I finally took out the dreadlocks. And as I was combing my hair, I lost quite a number of 'hairs'. I wanted to cry. No, I actually cried.
