Sometimes, I wonder what it will be like to hold you and just stare at you for hours. I even wonder if l’d still look pretty carrying you in my womb before then. I know I'll be different when you come along. I am too excited about you.

Yesterday, I was daydreaming and wondering what you will look like. Maybe you'll be chubby. Maybe you'll have full hair. Maybe you'll be dark and tall. Maybe you'll like to sing. Maybe you'll like to write. Either way—you are going to be a very smart guy.l just know it.

It is my desire to raise sons, whose sisters, wives and children would be proud of. It is my desire to be called blessed for your sake.

You are a blessing. Not just to me, but also to your dad, the family, the church and to the world.

An Open Letter To The Guy Whose Heart I Broke

Is it OK to say 'Good Morning'? Cos I am writing this article at 11:00AM. So yeah, I will be hitting the big three-0 in a few days. And like I told you last week, I will be sharing lessons from my 20s just before my journey into 30s starts.

Letter To My Ex

Dear Ex,

I know what it means to be heart broken.

It's like a knife piercing into your heart so slowly.

It's been years since I broke your heart and I still remember how much I felt bad for rejecting you.

I wanted to want you but I couldn't.
Trust me when I say that it was nothing you did. 'It's not you, it's me', so cliche, yet truer words have never been spoken.

I felt guilty every time you called. I felt like a fraud when we were hanging out together. I hated myself for leading you on.

I knew I wasn't ready for the relationship you were asking for. I had many mistakes to make and the experiences that didn't require a committed relationship. I'm sorry.

Few minutes ago, I was playing with an app on my phone called 'PicsArt' and viola! this beautiful picture happened! The tag line on this app says "everyone is an artist". So I'm wondering, perhaps we should ask: what is art, really?

What Art Means To Me
 

I have worked closely with various kinds of artists. As a matter of fact, I work in a creative industry. So I am open to a wide range of art. However, one thing I find common among every artist I have come in contact with, is their emotions and personal experiences. They pour it out like streams of water. It's inspiring HOW they share it.

Note To Self: The Year Is Not Over Yet

Just like not every day of our life is the best day ever, so is not every year the best one we have ever had. I haven’t exactly come to a conclusion out of the fact that 2017 hasn’t really been my favourite year yet. 2017 hasn’t been awful or terrible either, but it has definitely been a year of doubts and uncertainty and a year where I have questioned my place and call more often than usual. And while that has lead to some good and memorable lessons, I still feel I could have done without some of them.

2017 isn’t going to last forever and 2018 is hopefully going to bring a much needed breeze of clarity. But since the best way to combat a bad day is to just get up in the morning and to make the most out of every moment, I guess that the best antidote to a not so ideal year is to not give up and to keep going instead - and to realize that the year is not yet over.

"No one whose hope is in you will ever be put to shame. . . Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Saviour, and my hope is in you all day long. . . May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope is in you."

Hope is the thing that says "I don’t know how I’m going to get through this, I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I know the God I serve. I know He loves me, I know He has the power, and He’s never failed me in the past."

God is faithful. He will carry you through. He’s going to carry you through. Keep hope alive. Have faith. Take one more step and persevere. You are at the verge of a breakthrough. Do not quit.

~~Nothing is Working~~

My phone is sick. The battery refuses to be charged up.  My wi-fi router wouldn't come on. My mobile data plan expired this morning. I managed to go to the cyber café, and that's how the very system I was using stopped working. I logged on to another system, and that's how SoundCloud kept insisting that my password was incorrect. Phew! Even though I knew it was the right one. I tried other likely passwords. No way. I tried and tried and got tired. *tears*

I Met God (3)

I have found healing by writing letters to God. The act of expressing my fears, feelings and emotions has taken me to a place where He speaks directly to me.

My Letter

I had wanted to hide the pain and shame I felt when Jerry left me. But then, I realized it was time to be honest with God.

With tears in my eyes, I looked up to heaven. I had so much on my mind but didn't say a word. "Jerry never wrote you love letters. Did he?" God teased me.

Then God handed me an envelope. It was not the usual brown ones I've always known. It was of bright and beautiful colours.

Hello Sweeties! I'm having some 'me' time. I decided to give myself a gift of me.
Sometimes life can be so overwhelming that you want to go find a way out of here to a place in there. (if you know what I mean).

I looked on 1 Samuel 30:6 - ". . .but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God." And I wondered, "how did David do it?" "Did he stay up alone?" "Did he pray?" "Did he speak to himself?" Just maybe.

There are moments when you would need to encourage yourself too. I'm having such moments. . .

I Want My Baby Back (Letter)

That was how the project manager asked me to write a letter for him this morning. He claimed he's all rusty and not in any emotional mood (I still wonder what that means). "I want my baby back!" He moaned.  "Awww..." I gave that sound I make when someone says "I like your natural hair" as I looked at him. "Write an apology letter that can make any girl give that sound you gave."

I'm not sure whether he was joking or trying to pull my legs, but he really wanted me to write something. He asked for it later in the day. 

And so, I wrote this letter as a guy would. I had to save someone's heart na.
