Pregnant at Christmas: Mary’s Story and My Own

It was the Sunday before Christmas and the atmosphere was all lovely, warm and lively. Being pregnant I couldn’t help relating to Mary, the mother of Jesus. She was also pregnant at this time of the year, but her journey was far more extraordinary.

Picture a Pregnant Mary 

As I sat in church, surrounded by the warmth of Christmas songs and the joy of the season, I couldn’t help but think of Mary. I felt a deep connection to Mary. She carried not just a baby but the Saviour of the world, navigating a journey filled with uncertainty and yet rooted in unwavering faith.

I also felt grateful. Grateful for this new life growing inside me. Grateful for Mary’s example of faith and surrender. And most of all, grateful for Jesus, whose birth changed everything.

And I pictured Mary.

I wondered how Mary would feel at the moment, seeing all the mothers walking in her footsteps. She said yes to God’s incredible plan, even when she didn’t have all the answers. Her journey reminds me that motherhood—whether we’re birthing children, ideas, or dreams—is always a partnership with God.

2017 So Far . . .

I’ve been thinking of the best way to sum up 2017 so far because I’m optimistic that we still have some days ahead of us, and as we know, "a day is like a thousand years with God." If you follow me on any of the social media sites you probably have an idea of my current mood: JOY. God has been so good!

Christmas Tears

I cry a lot. It's no longer news that my eyes are teary. Little things make me cry.

And I believe within each of us are reservoirs brimful with tears.

Tears of joy and gratitude. Sentimental tears that well up when our hearts are touched – an inexplicable tears that flow without control.

Tears of frustration and anger. Tears of disappointment and hurt. Then the sobering choking tears of grief.

Even the MD acknowledged that I was perfect for the position. The interview went smoothly. And the audition swept everyone off their feet.

OK. While I await your response. I guess Boxing Day is stated to be December 26, a day to open your Christmas gift box. Yeah? Well, I couldn't meet up to our posting time (5:59 AM) on Saturday. So I postponed it till today.

What My Christmas Wish List Looks Like

I'm soo excited. It's beginning to smell a lot like Christmas! *inhales* Hmmmm . . . that smell. That joy. That feeling. *exhales* Oh la la la la! Are you pondering what I'm pondering? 

Most Christmases I get gifts I don’t like or want or make wish lists of things I want but don’t need and have no place to store. So this year I made a list of things I actually want or need (and can’t afford). I am not asking for Christmas gifts from anyone, but if you feel led to get me something. Here are some ideas. ;)

I'm Dreaming of a Rainy Christmas Day

I know it's too early to talk about Christmas. But then, I can't help to write about this dream I had last night. Some people say that you dream about the last thing you thought about, or the things you thought about all day. Duh. . . if I hear say Christmas be the last tin wey dey my mind!



It was 8:34PM. "Alright... thanks for calling... sleep well too." I said as I hung up. I have had a long day at the office. All I needed was a good night sleep. I picked up a book from my library ~ Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. I opened it to read but my phone distracted me. BBM ehn!
