General Fashion Blogging Struggles

My intention is not to turn this blog into a fashion blog but to simply share my interests (tips and tricks) in fashion with you like how to repeat your clothes once every week. Like I mentioned in 'Why I Love Twitter', you can express a lot in just one Tweet. But sometimes you want to tell a developing story, resurface a related Tweet, or simply talk for more than 140 characters. When that happens, you have the Tweet threading option!

Creating a thread on Twitter is simply easy. Just follow these 3 steps (Lol. I love easy steps. See here, here and there):

Step 1: Reply to your own Tweet.

Step 2:  If your @name appears in the Tweet compose field, delete it. The reply will nest under your first Tweet automatically.

Step 3: Continue replying to the newest Tweet in your thread until your story is complete.

Ankara And Sneakers

Sneakers are one of the most versatile things to incorporate in your wardrobe. Is there anything you can't wear with them!? You can wear sneakers on a little skirt, a shirt dress, a maxi skirt with slits, and you can even wear sneakers on a wedding gown!

I love sneakers. And I love Ankara fabrics. Being able to put these together in one outfit feels almost like a dream come true. I am excited about this trend.

Dear Diary, All My Friends Are Getting Married Again

Hi Sweethearts! How was your weekend? I was eager to share about how my weekend went with you right after attending another wedding on Saturday but honestly, it's not coming out nice. I have deleted my introductory paragraphs more than twice. Here is what my draft had been like since Sunday until noon today . . .

I'm Not Married Yet

Today I'm like:

I blog blood. I blog tears. And I blog smiles.

Sometimes I wish I could write anonymously. Sometimes I wish I could tell the truth without giving myself away. Sometimes I wish I could be the blogger who only shares with the world about what she wears, what she knows, and what she has come to discover through her journey with God, without necessarily sharing what she genuinely feels in her heart. But, then, if I am that blogger who hides, maybe I wouldn't have counted the third year of being here.

Sometimes I write stuff that makes me cover my face in shame. Sometimes I write things that could make a potential suitor afraid to approach me. Sometimes I think I give myself off away too much. Sometimes I think I should stop sharing personal lessons and stories. But, then, if I do not write the words I am ashamed of, maybe the words I am proud of would never exist.

I rip my heart open and I pour out the words.

Well, this is neither a bloody, nor a teary, nor a happy entry . . .

One Thing I Like About God

When our "I love God" becomes nothing less than an expression of doing-bound services, we may need to take a look at what we mean by love.

I Like God

I checked for the word 'like' in my most favourite English dictionary, Merriam-Webster;

Like means to get pleasure from simply being with someone.

Then I checked the word 'love' in the same dictionary;

Love is a feeling of strong affection for someone.

Countless numbers of people never thought they were complimenting me with reassurances when they say “you look African” or ask "are you a South African?"

In most cases, I feel even more proud when they say it when I am not wearing my most preferred "African" fabric - Ankara. It tells me looking African is beyond the fabric.

At a point, I was getting it twisted. I had thought looking African was only about incoporating Ankara fabric into my style, until I received the shocker that Ankara is NOT African.

Oh,well.
