My Husband and I Married as Virgins - Nikki Laoye

I love positive news! The news which bring hope, boost faith and affirms that God lives. I have pledged to never stop to give good news for the rest of my life. Yeah, you read that right. A friend once told me that my good news are weird. Lol. What do you say?

Oyenike Laoye is a Nigerian recording artist, songwriter, singer and dancer. I've always loved her voice and music. And after reading about this feature on Saturday Punch Newspaper, I respect her.

The multiple award winning singer, Nikki Laoye revealed that she and her husband got married as virgins. She said contrary to popular belief that virgins have boring marriages and are clueless when it comes to making love, she said she knew what she was doing the first time they had sex because she had learnt a lot about sex education.

She said, "My husband was not surprised that I was a virgin. Even though I was a virgin when I got married, I had equipped myself with information on sex education. I preach to Christian ladies that they should not think because they are Virgins, they should not find out how to get things done because when they get there, they have work to do. It has been fun and an adventure for us because we are finding out things about ourselves."

Laoye said she decided to remain a virgin because being a very emotional person, she would not like to sleep with any man that she would not get married to. The songstress admitted that although she was tempted, she stuck to her vow.
She advised young ladies to abstain from pre-marital sex. She said sex is worth waiting for and that their husbands would respect them more.

"sex is worth waiting for and the truth is that if you do it, when you get married, you would have plenty of it. I have plenty of it and I am never tired of it because it is with someone I love. It is fun and we come up with crazy ideas and we are not guilty about our actions. It is worth waiting for and the man would respect you cos he knows you could have slept with every Tom, Dick and Harry but you chose to wait," she said.

Nikki Laoye just made my weekend!

Nikky any information that cannot be subjected to test is unnecessary. We have no way of confirming your claim except if we ask your husband. Then his answer may also be subject to a lot of factors one of which maybe face saving or other issues. The long and short of it is that this should be something you and your husband privately treasure if it is true, not for public consumption since the public has no way of verifying it if need be.

It is good to be made public so that the younger generation can learn from it. It is a great achievement o. The temptations out there are deadly!

Oh, I do. Great people with great moral standards inspire me.

Amaka, getting married as a virgin is not a prerequisite for a successful marriage. Being a virgin doesn't make you holy either. So stop hyping this no sex ish. By the way, your friend was right. Your "good" news are weird!

Thanks girl for the good news. It's so refreshing to know that good things still happen in life, when all that the media talks about is calamity. If it's not one plane crash, it's an earthquake, or some school shooting or gang rape. My Pastor calls C.N.N calamity network news. Lol. And it's indeed so. God bless you dear. More grace.

Amakamedia said...

Hahaha... I like your pastor. He's funnily right. The Lord is our strength.
Thanks for coming around, Radiant. :)

I do disagree that being a virgin makes your partner respect you more. As much as we like to think that men are controlled by their ding dongs, a man would love and respect you cos he chose to...which has nichts to do with your coveted sexuality.
I do however respect her for holding out. These days we love to believe that ppl cannot abstain from sex. It's the same concept with beauty standards of the world. Everyone joins a bandwagon cos its easier than being different

And this' how Phoenix intelligently sits on the fence concerning this issue. We cannot tell which side you're on. Anyways, I get your point. lol. Thanks for coming around, dear.
