5 Signs of a Healthy Relationship

It's Love-Wednesday! It is important that we understand the impact of relationships in our lives. They either make us or break us. Let's consider these signs . . .

5 Signs of a Healthy Relationship

One thing I always say; being in a relationship is work. It can be more difficult if you’re not careful, because you could find yourself in the middle of a toxic wasteland that leads to nowhere but shameful stories and deep scars.

Sometimes it’s hard to see clearly in the cloudy fog we’ve come to know as love, and many of us end up going crazy. But when you have a healthy relationship, you’ll know. It will feel safe, calm and just . . . easy.

There are so many signs that let you know when you're in a healthy relationship. However, these are the major ones I look out for. . .

1. Mutual Enjoyment: A healthy relationship is beneficial to you and your partner. It is always a win-win. You enjoy spending time together. You encourage each other to grow and change. In other words, you inspire each other to be a better person.

2. Respect: When the pressure is on, you still treat each other with respect and patience. You don't let obstacles or circumstances become more important than the relationship. You build respect when it seems it's not working.

3. Trust: There is a strong sense of trust between you. You openly talk about everything - the good, the bad, and the ugly. There is no hidden agenda and no secrets from your past. You know where your partner is right now. And you even know what s/he is doing.

4. Shared Memories: I love this one because I enjoy reminiscing. When you go through a significant experience with your partner, a special bond is created. You laugh, cry and celebrate together.

5. God Factor: Yes. God makes a relationship beautiful. When God is not involved in your relationship, it is certainly not a healthy one. Do you ever pray and read the Bible together?

There are many other signs like reciprocity, care, giving, compatibility, etc. Feel free to add to the list in the comment box below.

Keep this in mind: When you decide to be in a relationship with another person, it’s about embarking on a journey together for years to come. You should not give up who you are. You and your partner have to maintain your individuality as you complement each other.

To beautiful, healthy and godly relationships . . .  cheers. :)
