He Gives Good And Perfect Things

One of my favourite knowledge of God’s heart is His desire to give us amazing gifts. James 1:17 says, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” :)

Every Good Gifts and Perfect Gifts Are From Above

When was the last time you related with God as a little child? When was the last time you approached God as your Heavenly Father? I hope it's not been too long. 

God wants us to see Him as a father. And that is what I am dwelling on this week. Coming to God as a baby girl and telling him everything about every single little thing. Coming to God as a baby girl and asking him for the simplest of things. He likes it! He listens because He loves me!

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, 

and coming down from the Father of lights, 

with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”

- James 1:17

COMING DOWN is a present participle, which indicates that these gifts flow upon us in a continuing stream. God is constantly giving gifts. It could be in the air we breath or the transmission of sight or other loving acts of His goodness. God gives us constantly the good blessings of life.

Everything good in this world comes from God, the Father. If it does not come from God, it is not good. If it comes from God it must be good, even if it does not seem good, like Paul’s thorn in the flesh that buffed him. He came to realize that God was perfecting his strength in weakness (2 Cor. 12:1-10). If it is from God it ends up being a tremendous blessing. Now, it may not appear in the package we wanted it to, but it is sure good.

LISTEN TO: The Gift

Every good gift you receive is because God loves you. His love for you is so great that He looks for every opportunity to give you a gift. Isn't that just amazing?! He desperately wants you to know that you are loved and valued by him. He so deeply wants you to know that he is not distant from you, and that he is working in your favour to lead you to abundant joy, peace and life.

God gives us salvation.

God gives us freedom.

God gives us wisdom.

God gives us understanding.

God gives us good friends.

God gives us good partners.

God gives us good food.

God gives us good clothes.

God gives us good jobs.

God gives us good husbands.

God gives us good children.

You name it!

God gives us everything good and everything perfect!

If we begin to understand that all we receive in life comes as a gift from our Heavenly Father, then we will begin to look at even the simplest of things with awe and child-like wonder. Our Father is the most generous person in the world. He loved us so much that He gave us His only begotten Son, and He continues to love us by giving us the gift of life every day that we live.

Believe it—His Word is true

Open your eyes, hands, and hearts to receive ALL He has for you today!
