Why Do People Have Pre-wedding Photo Shoot?

Hi sweeties. It's Love-Wednesday! This is the topic that landed on my fingers today. Yeah, pre-wedding photo shoot 🙈

Pre-wedding shoot is a photo shoot that usually takes place three to six months prior to the wedding day. Do you think they are neccessary?

Pre-Wedding Pictures Ideas

I posted the above picture on my Whatsapp status with the caption "pre-wedding shoot". Oh my God, the reaction was unbelievable.

The congratulatory message almost got me teary. It is amazing to know that my friends and family would love to see me getting married. Lol.

What an expensive joke. Jeez.

Two pictures after, I was immediately forced to DECLARE that statement as false. The pictures ARE NOT my pre-wedding pictures. I only posted them because I was trying to be naughty.

That's crazy. I know right.

The guy in the picture is Steve. Steve is a colleague who has a girlfriend, and the girlfriend happens not to be me. As a matter of fact, this is our first set of pictures ever. We took this picture in the office because.  .  .  *whispers* please don't tell my boss we were jobless.

I honestly didn't think that most people would consider these pictures as pre-wedding shots. Aren't the pictures too simple? too basic? But surprisingly, people believed me.

Hmm. . .

So it got me thinking. If I'm going to have to take pre-wedding shots, these pictures have given me simple ideas like;

1. Be Natural

No fake poses, no fake expression — everything can be real. Simple. Nice.

2. Choose A Memorable Location

Perhaps he proposed in the office, at church or in the mall. Or maybe that was where the first date took place. Or the first holiday location together. It’s always more meaningful to go to a place that holds a bit of history in the love story.

3. Reflect Personality

Are you an extrovert who loves to laugh a lot and chat nineteen to the dozen, or are you an introvert who prefers to sit with your books and enjoy quiet moments with just yourself and your hubby? Are you a hopeless romantic at heart? Your photos should reflect your personality. You also get to choose your location based on your personality.

4. Have A Theme

You can choose a theme that evokes a general ambience like bohemian or vintage, or even something more specific, like the theme based on schooling, career, or a theme based on travel. For the location and wardrobe, cleverly adjust everything to go with the theme you've chosen.

So effortless yet so lovely. I likey.

Got more simple ideas, please share.

A simple and intimate yet creative and beautiful photo shoot is always the goal.

Why Pre-Wedding Shoot tho?

I really don't understand the craze about it. But I've seen quite a number of creative and lovely pre-wedding pictures that had me wishing to be getting married instantly.

Ideally, the idea behind pre-wedding photoshoot is about savoring the great moments of love, joy, compassion, nervousness and expectations going through the minds of the bride and the groom during the days before the wedding.

Pre-wedding photographs can be casual, fun and romantic. They display the chemistry between couples through the camera lens and become memorable moments – to be cherished forever.

Yes, I'd love to have REAL pre-wedding photoshoot pretty soon, so that I can have REAL congratulatory messages. 😀
