Being a Daughter Above All

Today, as the world celebrates the International Day of the Girl Child, I’ve been thinking about identity. About the many names we grow into and the many titles we carry along the way; woman, wife, mother, leader, creator, mentor, and many more. They’re all beautiful, but none of them truly define who I am at the core. Nwa…

Beloved Daughter

This was a birthday portrait of me resting in my truest identity.

Hey sweetie, let me remind you. Before you started answering to all the names people call you now, you were already called Daughter.

Somewhere between growing up and growing older, we often forget that simple truth. We chase relevance, we strive to prove ourselves, we try to wear every hat role with grace. Yet, the fact remains that before the world named us anything, God named us His own.

And that, right there, is our truest identity. We are more daughter than anything else.

May we not forgo remembering who we are. No other name given to us stands more permanent than that name. No other title we carry will surpass that one. No other calling is greater.
We are chosen. Valuable. Beautiful. Secure. Loved.
We are in Christ.
We are powerful in Him and beautiful because He is.

When a girl grows up knowing she is first and always a daughter of God, she carries herself differently. Her worth is not anchored in applause or acceptance. Her confidence is not borrowed from the crowd. Her beauty is not up for debate. She walks in quiet strength, knowing she is loved and covered.

That’s what I want every girl child to know, especially my two sweet girls, Kamma and Kamso. Being a daughter is not something you outgrow. It’s who you will always be.

So today, as the world celebrates girls for their courage, their dreams, their voices, may we also celebrate the divine truth that anchors it all:

We are daughters above all.

Because from that identity flows everything else like purpose, power, peace, and even beauty.

Speaking of beauty, the theme for The Princesses Day at the Mega Teens Church tomorrow is Radiant Princess, and I can’t wait!

There is something about a daughter who knows who she is,  she shines. She radiates.

Radiance is not about glitter, attention, or how bright and colourful your outfit is. It is the light that flows from within, the glow that comes from being deeply loved and fully known.

A radiant daughter reflects her Father’s glory. Her presence brings warmth, her smile carries peace, and her words build others up. She doesn’t compete for the spotlight because she already carries the light. Oh my, I am already preachinggggg!

Declare with me: I know who and whose I am. I am the daughter of the Most High!

Happy International Day of the Girl Child!
Stay Positive.
Stay Inspired.
Stay Be-YOU-ti-ful.
