Happy New Month! 2017 is moving faster than I imagine. Aha! I asked this question on Twitter a couple of months ago, and we couldn't come to a conclusion.
Entrepreneur Vs Employee
Maybe the question should be, which of the two is more rewarding and easier to you as a person?
Currently, I am wearing both shoes.
As an employee, I work for a media agency to promote brands on social media and connect brands with their online customers. As an entrepreneur, I am gradually building a media network doing few creative things. Yet, I haven't figured out which is better.

I really want to discover the answer for myself.
It would be nice to find out which is better for you too.
Let's discuss this topic under five headings - time, decision making, income, failure and success.
Schedule
As an entrepreneur, you set your own time, pace and work whenever and wherever you are. You can choose to work only at night, or during the day. You can choose to work in your night wear, or whatever outfit makes you comfortable. You can decide to go to the beach in the middle of the day without worrying about your boss – because you are your own boss.
As an employee, your work hours are fixed. If it’s a 9-to-5 job, you are expected to work within that time period. Whether you want to or not, you have to avail yourself for work. How blessed are you if your job do not require you to work after office hours and during the weekend. You can forget about work as soon as you leave the office. Unless you’re workaholic or involved in the job that works on weekends, you can enjoy your weekend and not even think about your job.
Decision-Making
As an entrepreneur, you must be creative. To create a successful business, you have to disrupt something, break a rule, or change the game. You have do the same thing people do but in a different way. You wear so many hats, because you are constantly burdened with decision-making in all areas of your business. You breath and think about your business.

As an employee, you follow the rules of the company. You are mandated to uphold the status quo. You don't necessarily have to think out ideas, just do what your job description demands. If you’re an accountant, then you simply need to work on the accounting functions; and if you are a customer service representative, then you work only in dealing with customers.

Income
As an entrepreneur, your business is unpredictable. Your income is directly tied to the result or profit generated over a period of time. When you make money, it is all yours and you can decide what to do with it. When you do not make money, you bear the loss alone. As an entrepreneur, you are rich one day, and the next day, you are broke.

As an employee, your income is relatively predictable: you know how much you will get paid, and when you will get paid (e.g. weekly, biweekly or once a month). Whether you did your best work or just so-so work that month, you still get to receive your regular salary.
Failure
As an entrepreneur, you will fail many times before you succeed. You know that failure is more likely than success each time you invest yourself in the business –and failure may lead to more failures. That's the risk in it. You lose your money over and over again. But, for you, failure means learning and growing.
As an employee, you dare not fail at your job. The risk is that you will lose your job or get a query. You are paid to deliver. So you strive to do better every day. For you, failure means incompetence.
So . . .
It all comes down to where you get more reward for your work.
One thing I know for sure is, some of us are born to be entrepreneurs, because we find personal fulfilment, happiness and success with our own businesses. While, some of us are destined to work as employees, with a few promotion to the top of our career path.
Whether you decide to become an entrepreneur or an employee, it depends on WHAT YOU THINK is right for you, WHAT YOU WANT to do with your life, and WHAT YOU CAN DO.
