It Is Wicked Not To Be Fruitful

I love the Bible for many reasons. One reason is because the Bible can be read metaphorically and understood literally.

The Bible often uses the metaphor of fruit to describe the produce of our lives. If your life bears no fruit, you are regarded as wicked

The Call To Be Fruitful

To be fruitful is to be able to show progress in your career, your relationship/marriage, academic pursuit, business and of course your walk with God.

As Christians, we are called to be fruitful. Our fruit is to produce better results:

"The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life."
~Proverbs 11:30

God is fruitful in His nature, in His deeds and in His ways. We can say that fruitfulness is in God’s DNA. Everything talks about His love for fruitfulness

Therefore, God is passionate about our fruitfulness. He is a fruit-conscious God. God has placed within you a desire for more. More of Him, more of what He has called you to be. This desire is what produces fruitfulness!

Do a self check right now: What is your desire? What is burning in your heart? What are you most passionate about?

Whether or not you acknowledge it, God has called you to be fruitful. It was the very first instruction He gave man:

“And God said to them,
“Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, . . . ”
Genesis 1:28

Being fruitful is a commandment!

God would not command something forth from you that He did not give you an ability to produce! This is why we all have Heart Rays within us! Something is burning in your heart. You are yearning for more. God has placed in us a desire to bear fruit and more fruit, because He has commanded us to do so!

Yet so many do not realize that we can only bear fruit in Him.

Without God, you cannot bear good fruit.

This concept of fruitfulness is a significant part of why I am blogging. It fills me with joy to know that I can have the tools needed to be fruitful. There is such a multiplication of peace, favour, wholeness, abundance and joy when we walk in fruitfulness.

I want you to take a moment and reflect on your life . . . Where can YOU bear more fruit? More INCREASE . . . more EFFECTIVENESS . . .  more PROFIT . . . more TESTIMONIES . . . more of what God wants for YOU!

I enjoy reading The Parable of Talents. That parable is so deep. It is essentially about fruitfulness. (I like to think I am like the guy who is given 5 talents. I am so gifted. Bless God!) However, to whom much is given, much is expected. People of God, it's a lot of work when you have so many talents!

From that parable, I shared some business insight here. Jesus actually buttress the fact that fruitfulness is a function of hard work and trading (business). He reveals that a steward who will not produce increase (profit) is fruitless, and God will be very angry with him.

Making profit is in the plan.

Recall that when it was time to give account (you know accountants are needed in heaven, right? Lol. I know I'm deviating  but this is where I see why my accounting skills should not go to waste!), the steward said he was "afraid" and hid his talent in the ground. He gave the talent back to God. But was God happy with him? No. God called him lazy and WICKED, not afraid!

There has got to be something to show for your talent. You agree with me to this point, right? Good.

Having said that, profit is relative. Your profit is dependent on your skills and effort.

Is fear stopping you from taking up that project? Is fear stopping you from taking a step further? Is fear stopping you from asking for money on the job you have done? Let go of that fear.

I asked myself, "why was the steward afraid?"

I now know why. (I know why because I have been afraid to make BIG money for a long time now. Lol. I think I'm ready to be a billionaire) The steward did not believe God's ability IN him. He didn't want to work with God. He didn't want to use creativity and put in the effort it takes to bring increase by using his "talents".

It wasn't because he was afraid - he was lazy, selfish and WICKED!

Go read your Bible, it's there.

It would be counted for me as wickedness if I do not blog to bear fruit. It would be counted for me as wickedness if I do not use my handcrafts to bear fruit. It would be counted for me as wickedness if I do not use my "voice" to bear fruit.

I'd rather do it afraid than do NOTHING at all.

Getting it?

You are wicked by not using your skills and abilities. God gave you treasure, and you just let it rot under the ground like that? You cannot be fruitful if you specialize in burying your gifts and talent.

This article is getting too long. I fear that you just skimmed through it, but that's fine if you got a word.

In summary, God can make anyone to be fruitful. That is why talent cannot stand alone. You have to add some faith. (2 Peter 1:5)

So the question for us today is: Are you bearing fruit?
