Do You Know How Much Your Dreams Would Cost You?

Sometimes Jesus can beat around the bush, and at other times He hits you deep in your heart with a 2 x4 sword through His parables. I've been a bit uncomfortable lately . . .

Count The Cost

Today's message is to encourage you to keep to your assignments and dreams and FINISH what you started despite oppositions, fears and barriers.

Key word here is: FINISH
To succeed in doing.
To accomplish, to achieve, to carry out,
Bring to an end, COMPLETE, to overcome completely.

Sub-word: COMPLETE

To make whole.

Life can be difficult . . . Some of us even attest that being a Christisn is hard. Living the creative life is hard. And no matter where you live or what you do, life is not easy.

Only those who can endure to the end succeed. The heart of the matter is that of endurance. Life is a matter of endurance. Christianity is a matter of endurance.

Here is the verse of the day:

"Which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?"
- Luke 14:28

Building anything requires your commitment and sacrifice. Do you know the costs of your dreams - financial cost, mental and emotional cost, time cost, etc? Are you paying the price?

The message is quite simple:

If you want to be a disciple, then you'd better count the cost. It's an "all or nothing" proposition. If you're not ready to jump in with both feet, and stay with the journey until the very end, then perhaps it's best to stay behind rather than suffer the embarrassment of starting out on the journey and having to turn back before you get to the end.

Oops. You have to FINISH what you STARTED.

You can't just say you're not doing again. We gotta get to the end, sweetie!

I believe most of us have counted the cost and started on the journey already. The journey to becoming Jesus - the journey to fulling His purpose for our lives - the journey to bringing the dreams He put on our hearts into reality.

Let me share a process with you:
  1.  The birth of the vision – when your heart is filled with inspiration and passion to accomplish what God has created you to do.
  2.  The Foundation – investing everything you can and have both spiritually and physically into the birth of the vision in your heart.
  3.  The Death – This is a stage no one like to be in. The stage that nothing is working. Your heart is weary, confused and impatient.
  4. The rebirth of the vision is when God steps in with His mighty hand and power and turns the whole situation around and renews your inner strength.

That 3rd stage is bloody deadly. It is the stage of despair when you feel like giving up, but if you can endure to go through this stage you are a success. If you haven’t been there, you better be prepared and if you are there already, you better thanking God because you are fulfilling your dream.

What I hear the Spirit saying to us this week is this:

God will make you complete, whole and equip you with everything good to do his will, accomplishing in us what pleases him through Jesus.
- Hebrews. 13:21

Keep to your dreams and goals. You may start slowly but the Lord said ‘do not despise the days of small beginnings’. Just take it one day at a time. Take one step at a time; you will see yourself finishing what you started.

If you have broken and dead vision, I challenge you today to put the end in mind – You will finish. You will be made whole. God will restore your vision and breath new life into your dream.

I see you fulling your God-given dreams. Amen!

DON’T GIVE UP. FINISH WHAT YOU STARTED.

Stay inspired.
